Nu-wha?!?
Oh my! It’s been quite some time since we’ve updated this site. However, the wait will have been worth it, once you see what we have obtained! We’ve added five new fezzes to the colleciton, so let’s start by taking a look around!
First, we have an addition to the Grotto exhibit, depicting a damanged fez as a point of reference and to act as a cautionary tale to others.
Next, we’ve added another Kremlin Sodak fez to our Imperial Order of Muscovites collection. This group remains one of our research focuses and we’re happy to have been able to add another example to the exhibit.
Also updated is the Oriental Order of Humility and Perfection area, which now contains a non-bullion example of a basic members fez. All of the fezzes in this section are at least 90 years old, making it one of our most delicate exhibits.
Following that, we have added something to the collection that may not be a fez at all – a Moose Tah! We’ll let you check it out and be the judge. It has a tassel, lacks a brim, and is a hat – but does that make it a fez? Let us know what you think!
Finally, we come to our big acquisition. We’ve managed to finally add a Nuwaubian fez to our collection. The Nuwaubian movement has gained much notoriety and has been labeled as a rascist organization, but their use of the fez (especially from a fraternal standpoint) continues to bring them to our attention.
We hope you enjoy these updates. As always, we are continuing to add fezzes to our collection as we find them. Thanks for reading!
